Significant distinctions were achieved by students of Grades 5 and 6 of our school who participated in the Bebras International Challenge on Computational Thinking and Informatics, a global educational initiative aimed at developing students’ skills in computational thinking, logical problem-solving, and creative approaches. The competition included participation from 34,706 students across Greece. The contest was held online during the ICT lesson last November. The students who qualified for the next phase are:Grade 5: Giokhalas Maximos (108/116)Grade 6: Patrikios Konstantinos (104/116)In 3rd and 4th place for our school, but not advancing to the next stage:Podara Andrianna (100/116)Lampropoulos Odysseas (96/116)The competition takes place annually in more than 50 countries and in Greece is coordinated by the Laboratory of Learning Technology and Educational Engineering of the University of Patras.Participation in Bebras Challenge offers students an excellent opportunity to become familiar with fundamental principles of computer science, develop problem-solving skills in real-world scenarios, and strengthen their confidence through an international experience. At the same time, they practice engaging and creative problems that combine mathematical and computational thinking, while exploring the world of informatics through playful activities.Warm congratulations to our students and to the ICT teachers of our school, Mr. Kaloskamis and Mr. Karimpidis.
