Between March 16 and 20, our students of B’ Lyceum had the opportunity to take an exciting educational trip full of experiences, images, and knowledge, traveling to Switzerland with a destination at the CERN research center in Geneva.CERN, keeping the acronym from its original name Conseil Européen pour la Recherche Nucléaire, is the largest experimental particle physics laboratory in the world. It is located west of Geneva, on the border between Switzerland and France. It was founded in 1954 by twelve European countries and now includes 23 member states, including Greece, which is also a founding member.During the trip, students explored major destinations and learned about Switzerland’s history, culture, and natural landscape. They visited Lucerne with its historic wooden bridge, the old town of Geneva, Lausanne, admired the breathtaking scenery of the French Alps in Chamonix–Mont Blanc, explored the picturesque village of Gruyères and its castle, visited Einstein’s house, toured a chocolate factory, and enjoyed a scenic lakeside walk in Montreux, famous for its festival.
