As part of the fractions unit, students worked in groups to complete a hands-on activity. After studying a supporting worksheet and using plastic counting sticks, they built a flower, a rainbow, a house, and a small human figure. Through this activity, students reinforced their understanding of finding a part of a whole set of objects, in line with previous lessons. They also practiced teamwork and problem-solving by solving a puzzle, ultimately completing four different constructions.
