This year, our Kindergarten participated in the European Code Week, a Europe-wide initiative designed to introduce children to coding through creativity and play. The theme of our participation was “Bee-Bot in the Autumn Forest.” Inspired by the arrival of autumn, the children discussed seasonal changes in nature and how animals prepare for winter. They observed images, exchanged ideas, and decided to create their own autumn-themed activity mat.Using arts and crafts materials, they built a beautiful autumn landscape with trees, leaves, and animal nests. They also created animals such as hedgehogs, squirrels, snails, and snakes using modeling clay and placed them around the activity mat. Then, with the help of the Bee-Bot robot, they programmed routes for each animal to reach its home.Through play and experimentation, the children:developed logical thinking and prediction skills, became familiar with basic programming concepts, collaborated and created using their imagination, combined knowledge of nature and autumn with coding activities. For this project, our school received the European Code Week Certificate, recognizing the children's creative effort and the school’s active participation in modern educational practices.Congratulations to all the children for their enthusiasm and imagination!
