Our school honored the anniversary of the Polytechnic Uprising through celebratory events presented by students from Grade 6 of Primary School, Middle School, and High School.Primary and Grade 8 students performed an original theatrical production, highlighting the symbolic value of elements connected to the anniversary. Symbols such as the flag and the Polytechnic itself were presented not merely as historical artifacts, but as carriers of meaning that connect generations and preserve the spirit of the struggle for freedom and democracy.Through artistic interpretation, students redefined these symbols so they could gain contemporary relevance and resonate with young people today.High school students presented the historical events leading up to the Polytechnic uprising, as well as the subsequent Turkish invasion and division of Cyprus, and the transition to the Metapolitefsi period.Primary school students accompanied their peers using pianicas and melodicas, under the guidance of music teacher Ms. Georgia Ioannou. Along with Middle and High School students, they formed the school choir and orchestra, supported by educator Mr. Thanasis Diavolakis, under the supervision of music teacher Ms. Roula Papaioannou.The theatrical direction was led by drama teacher Mr. Christos Syriotis and philologists Ms. Anna Andreadaki and Ms. Maria Vombyraki.
